カルティエは1847年、ルイ・フランソワ＝カルティエが宝石細工しとして工房をスタートさせたフランスのブランドで、腕時計の分野でも非常に歴史があります。

1904年に誕生し、以後カルティエの代表的な時計として挙げられるサントス ドゥ カルティエ。

ブラジル人飛行家、アルベルト・サントス＝デュモンがカルティエの３代目ルイ・ジョゼ・カルティエに「飛行機を操縦している時に操縦桿から手を離さずに時間を確認できる時計が欲しい」と相談されたことから生まれた時計です。

現行のコレクションとは異なるのがそのサイズ感、そしてインデックスの経年変化でしょうか。

現行のLMはもっと大きなサイズとなっており、小さいMMサイズでも35mmとこの時代のLMサイズよりも一回り大きいです。

このサントスガルベ通常のビスをあしらったデザインでは無く、ゴドロンブレスと呼ばれる特徴的なブレスレットになっている珍しいモデル。

スポーティな雰囲気とエレガントさがミックスした、カルティエならではのデザインですよね。

ブレスレットは腕周り約18-18.5cm程度の長さです。余りコマは1コマ付属します。

This Santos Galbee is based on the original model and has been designed with the bis of the plane that triggered the birth in each part.

What is different from the current collection is its sense of size and aging of the hour markers.

The current LM has a larger size, and the small MM size is 35 mm, one size larger than the LM size of this era.

This watch has a little aged dial and the blue Roman numerals hour markers. It’s so cool.

The design of bracelet is unique, called “godron”.

The length of the bracelet is adjusted for the 16-16.5cm wrist at now. (It can be adjusted for 18-18.5cm with additional links)
