「クリストロン」は1970年代のシチズンのクォーツ時計に付けられた名称で、様々なモデルが販売されていました。この時計はクリストロンの150m防水仕様の本格的なダイバーウォッチとして生産されました。
セイコーダイバーの人気から、シチズンのダイバーウォッチも徐々に注目され始めています。特に自動巻きの「チャレンジダイバー」はこういった逸話があり、特に人気があります。
『1983年、オーストラリアのロングリーフビーチで発見された、CITIZENの自動巻きダイバーズウォッチ「チャレンジダイバー」。海底で発見されたときにはフジツボで覆われながらも、なんと波の揺れでゼンマイが巻かれ、時を刻み続けていました。』
自動巻きのものは中々のお値段がしますが、クォーツはまだそこまでには至っておらず手が出しやすいレンジです。この時計の大きな特徴は大きなソード型の時針では無いでしょうか。ベンツ針や矢印の形状が多い中で、この形はインパクトがあります。
ケースサイズは42mmですが、リューズガードまで計測した際の値ですので実際にはベゼル径の40mmぐらいのサイズ感です。同じ42mmのセイコーの7548ダイバーより小さく感じます。
ガラスにスレこそあるものの、全体的なコンディションも非常に良く、ヴィンテージダイバーの1本目として非常におすすめの時計です。
オーバーホール済み。オーバーホール時に電池交換済み、各部のパッキン交換済みです。6ヶ月保証となります。

【Description】
The name “Crystolon” was given to Citizen’s quartz watches in the 1970s, and various models.
This watch was produced as a professional diver’s watch that was water resistant to 150 meters.
Due to the popularity of Seiko Diver, Citizen’s diver watches are gradually beginning to attract attention.
The self-winding “Challenge Diver” is especially popular because of this anecdote.
“In 1983, CITIZEN’s automatic diver’s watch “Challenge Diver” was discovered at Long Reef Beach in Australia.
It was covered with barnacles when it was found at the bottom of the ocean, but to my surprise, the spring was wound by the waves and kept ticking.”
The automatic ones are moderately priced, but the quartz ones are not quite there yet and are in an affordable range.
The big feature of this watch is probably the large sword-shaped hour hand. While most of the hands are in the shape of mercedes or arrows, this shape has a great impact.
The case size is 42mm, but this is the value when measured up to the crown guard, so the actual size is about 40mm in bezel diameter.
It feels smaller than Seiko’s 7548 Diver, which is also 42mm.

About Complete Service
Complete service, sometime called overhaul is the work of disassembling a mechanical product down to its individual parts, cleaning and reassembling it to bring it closer to its new state of performance.
Roughly speaking, the overhaul procedure is as follows.
1. Separate into case and movement
2. Disassemble the movement
3. Inspection and pre-cleaning of wear condition of each part
4. Wash parts with a special machine
5. Lubrication and assembly
6. Waterproof test
7. Final adjustment and running test.
Some movements are made up of hundreds of parts, but it is a very meticulous process of disassembling them one by one, inspecting them all, cleaning them, and reassembling them.
If you don't overhaul, the oil will deteriorate just like a car, and the risk of wear and damage to parts increases, causing a decrease in accuracy and, in severe cases, not working.
There is also the reason that it will be very expensive to replace parts after they are found to be damaged, so we recommend overhauling once every 2-3 years for economical and long-term use.
