-Description

Jaeger-LeCoultre was founded in 1833 in the Joux Valley in Switzerland, known as the 'Valley of Complicated Watches'.

Jaeger-LeCoultre is known as a "true manufacture", producing and assembling all components in its own workshops, known as "Grande Maison".

Jaeger-LeCoultre has a history of supplying movements to Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and Cartier, and its technology stands out amongst other watch manufacturers.

Reverso is a Jaeger-LeCoultre's flagship watch, was first created in 1931.

It is characterised by its design, which incorporates elements of the Art Deco style popular at the time, and by its inverted case.

This unique case was created after a British officer stationed in India asked Reverso to develop a wristwatch that could withstand the shocks of a polo match.

When inverted, the caseback appeared on the front, protecting the dial from blows from sticks.

This Ref 270.6.49 is the Number One model, which was sold from around 2001.

The case was made of platinum, a first for the Reverso, and was sold in a limited edition of 500 pieces.

The case design is rectangular with a geometric design with decorations on the top and bottom, clearly inspired by Art Deco.

The skeletonised design on both the front and back of the watch is a key feature, allowing the beautiful finishing of the movement to be seen.

The watch comes with an inner and outer box, instructions etc. and a certficate of origin and warranty paper.

It comes with a genuine stainless steel Deployant-buckle and an genuine steel bracelet, both are signed JLC.

The movement is a manual-wind Cal. 849R-SQ.

The SQ is taken from the French word "squelette" means skeleton.

It is one of the thinnest manual wind mechanical movements in the world, measuring just 1.85 mm.

Vacheron Constantin uses a Cal.849 based movement as Cal.1003.

Please take a look at the photos to see the fine finishing.
