-Description

Datejust is the Rolex's most famous automatic watch, was born in 1945.

It is widely known as a watch that anyone can recognize at a glance from its distinctive appearance.

The Datejust mechanism, which instantly changes the date at midnight, is considered one of Rolex's three greatest inventions, along with the Oyster case and the self-winding Perpetual mechanism, and the Datejust collection is the culmination of all of them.

Ref.1603 is a vintage model manufactured from the 1960s to the late 1970s.

It looks a bit similar to the same Datejust Ref.1601, but this 1603 has an engine-turned bezel made of stainless steel.

The engine-turned bezel, which is more finely decorated than the fluted bezel, is somewhere between elegant and sporty.

The fluted bezel is made of white gold, which changes color with age, while the stainless steel bezel is more consistent with the case.

The rounded plexi crystal and the dial with one step down on the outer circumference are also details unique to vintage Datejust.

The case has small scratches from use, but it is in good condition with little thinning.

The dial is a matte black dial.

Looking at it with a loupe, you can see red, yellow, and green particles in addition to black.

This is a rare dial that was only manufactured for a few years, called "confetti".

In Japan, it is described as "Red Eye".

It is not as obvious a feature as the glossy dials called mirror or gilt dial, but it is no less rare.

The hands and indexes are bar type. Both luminous paint of the hands and dial are tritium, and these are in good condition.

The movement is a self-winding Cal.1570, an early model without hack function.

It is a highly accurate and durable machine that has passed the chronometer standard and is easy to maintain, so it can be used with peace of mind.

The bracelet comes with a winding type jubilee bracelet 6251H of the same age as the watch.

The number of links is 22, which is long enough, and the drooping is quite small considering the age of the watch.

This is a recommended watch for those who are thinking of a slightly different vintage Datejust.
