-Description

Datejust is the Rolex's most famous automatic watch, was born in 1945.It is widely known as a watch that anyone can recognize at a glance from its distinctive appearance.

The Datejust mechanism, which instantly changes the date at midnight, is regarded as one of Rolex's three greatest inventions, together with the Oyster case and the automatic Perpetual mechanism, and the Datejust collection is the culmination of all these features.

This Datejust, with its bidirectional rotating bezel with numerals for measurements, is officially known as a Turn-O-Graph.

The reference 1625 is the second generation Turn-O-Graph that was produced from around 1959 to 1977, and this watch features a stainless steel case and an 18K white gold bezel.

The name "Thunderbirds" comes from the nickname of the U.S. Air Force acrobatic team, the Thunderbirds, which was founded in 1953.

When a member of the Thunderbirds used the Turn-O-Graph, word spread throughout the team, and the military officially requested Rolex to supply them with watches.

Using this relationship, Rolex released a special edition Turn-O-Graph with an 18K gold case featuring the Thunderbirds logo for the U.S market.

They began advertising the watch as the "Thunderbird," and the name became widely known.

The case is 36mm diamter, the same as other Datejust, and has a chronograph-like bi-directional bezel, giving it a sporty look.

The dial is a sunray finished silver dial with bar indexes. The most attractive feature of this watch is that it has changed to a nice ivory color with age.

The movement is an automatic Cal.1570. It does not have a hack function.

It is a masterpiece movement that balances accuracy and durability among Rolex movements, and it is the foundation of current movements.

The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker. The reversing wheel and plexi crystal replaced to genuine parts in the service.
